The majority of my paintings are abstracted images that are reminiscent of landscape, with implied perspectives and blurred distinctions.
Some pieces have photographic images transferred into them, which are obscured so that they remain a fleeting notion within an imaginary landscape.
Colour is a powerful element that I aim to use to take the viewer on a journey through the landscape and transcend the expected. The spiritual quality of colour for me is a ongoing pursuit.

I paint onto a gesso ground, a surface which has been used for over 500 years. Its manipulative surface can be textured, engraved or polished to a marble- like finish. Once it is sealed I build layers of rich oil colour onto it.
The finished pieces are usually hung without framing as they are rigid supports with 2 painted sides.
